What is infographic?

πŸ’« Hello my dear reader! πŸ’«

In this week our teacher gave us homework for Instructional Technologies and Material Design lesson. She wanted us to create an infographic with one of the topics chosen by her. I prefered to design an infographic about plagiarism. Infographic is a visual depiction of data, knowledge, or information that aims to convey complicated information in an easy-to-understand manner. It shares clues and important parts about the topic to make the information clearer. We can use images, photos, data and text in our infographic. There are also some infographic types that you can choose according to your topic. Mine is an informational infographic and I informed you about a specific topic which is plagiarism. I used Canva while creating my design. I didn’t have any difficulty while creating it, on the contrary it was very entertaining task. I chose any picture or images I want about my topic. I changed its font and colors to make it more entertaining and remarkable. πŸ’›πŸ’œ

When it comes to using the infographic in English Language Teaching, I think it has a lot of benefits for both students and ELT teachers. One of them is that when teachers use infographic, it can easily attract the attention of the students’. Thanks to it’s visual image, infographic helps students to get the English vocabularies quickly and grammar topics become more understandable. Also, infographic can be arranged for all ages and levels. If you prepare your English lesson for kids, you can use colorful, funny images and fonts; but if it is about more formal subjects, you can prefer using basic colors and fonts. As you can understand, there is no limit while preparing the infographic. You can decorate the infographics as you wish, just like your dreams. πŸŒˆπŸŒΈπŸŽ€
