What is AR (Augmented Reality)?

Helloo, my dear reader welcomee! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ˜ Today you will learn about Augmented Reality(AR) and will see our project about it.

First of all, let me inform you about the AR. Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that allows video, picture, and 3D models and animations to be visualized in a 3D environment based on elements of the real world. As you can see from the picture above, it transforms digital content and information into the physical/real world. Additionally, by enabling you to perceive digital information in the same manner that you experience the real world, AR opens up new opportunities for your technology to be useful throughout your day. It allows you to visually search objects by just directing your camera at them.  ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ“ฒ๐Ÿ“ท

You can access AR via QR codes, trigger images, markerless AR apps, or GPS location. In games (like Pokemon Go), books, discovery-based learnings, and object-modelling, you can utilize AR. Also on Youtube, you can find lots of AR videos about everything. You can visit and see your dream city, zoo, your country, and different life in different places. ๐ŸŒš๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿ—ฟ✈ If you wonder you can watch this video. ๐Ÿ‘‰ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkshFcLESPU

๐Ÿ’ฌOur task is to explore a global issue with AR. With two of my friends, we chose the problem of the water crisis and helped our students to understand the topic. To see and understand thoroughly its impacts, consequences, and causes, we gave our students a video with a QR code in the worksheet and wanted them to write these activities in the worksheet prepared by us. Here you can see our digital worksheet. (For the video you can scan the QR code.) ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ”

After students completed their worksheets, we planned to talk and discuss with students about the problem to see different opinions about the water crisis. You can see a detailed version of our lesson plan from the ASSURE Lesson Plan. Let me explain briefly what an ASSURE Lesson Plan is. ๐Ÿ’ญIt is an organized approach to lesson design and delivery that incorporates media and technology into the classroom. The reason why I capitalized every letter of the word ASSURE is because we are analyzing the competencies that start with these letters.

A for Analyse learners

S for State objectives

S for Select Instructional methods, media, and materials

U for Utilize media and materials

R for Require learner participation

E for Evaluate and revise

And lastly, to raise our students' awareness and to reinforce the topic, we gave the project to our students. In their project, they will watch the video about Somalia and prepare a brochure about it. Thus, thanks to this project, their knowledge and interest in the subject will improve. Also, we informed students that the most creative and beautiful brochure will be hung on the walls of the school. ๐Ÿ“„๐Ÿ’ฎ    I hope you enjoyed and learned today. Take care of yourself until the next time! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ’ž
